This paper explores the keys to successful implementation of lean tooling, the steps to implementatio, and effective methods and techniques. The keys for success are: an effective improvement method, a favorable environment, the 5S system, and ongoing teamwork. Lean tooling is a five-phase process: (1) prepare the project, (2) study the problem, (3) organize the workplace, (4) create and implement tooling standards, and (5) stabilize tooling.
