Are QuickCast Patterns Suitable for Limited Production?

This paper provides comprehensive data regarding the accuracy of QuickCast(TM) patterns and their suitability for investment casting not only functional prototypes but also limited production runs of functional metal parts as well. A statistically large data sample obtained from an in-house study by Express Pattern Inc. revealed that nearly 100% of QuickCast patterns satisfied consensus investment casting pattern tolerance and accuracy requirements. For production volumes less than break-even quantity, QuickCast patterns can provide economic and time advantages over molded wax patterns that will open new markets to investment casting.
