Description
Back to Integration of Part Geometric Errors and Rigid Assembly Stack-Up...
A new method is developed for integration of part geometric errors (PGE) and error stack-up in rigid body assembly process (RE). It provides an interface between rigid and compliant assembly models. Algorithms are provided to simulate PGE based on statistical modal analysis (SMA) method and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) information. It is an initial step toward the development of rigid-compliant hybrid assembly model for stream of variation analysis in multistation manufacturing systems. Authors: W. Huang (University of Massachusetts Dartmouth), Z. Kong (Oklahoma State University)
