Description

Back to Employee and Machine Productivity Evaluation Using Manufacturing Info.
In this research, a Manufacturing Information System (MIS) is developed for shop floor control and performance evaluation in discrete parts manufacturing industries. A relational database is designed first to organize manufacturing and quality data obtained from the workstations on the shop floor. The data tables and relations needed for database management are then implemented using Microsoft Access to create the MIS which manipulates the data and produces summary reports for management decision making. Using the system, shop floor productivity and quality can be analyzed by machine, by operator, or by machine operation, allowing the management to setup standard operation times and to evaluate the performance by employee and by machine center.
