QUALITY ASSURANCE IN POWDER METALLURGY PARTS

Sintered metal parts can meet engineering specifications with the same frequency as other fabricated metal parts when statistical quality control is used. This paper discusses methods of acceptance inspection performed by the parts producers on raw materials, methods of process control available to parts producers for evaluating future performance, and acceptance tests performed by the consumer.
