Description

Back to GRINDING FLUIDS
The entire field of grinding is covered in this paper from two points of view: (1) Stock removal grinding (SRG) and (2) Form and finish grinding (FFG). In SRG, the role of the grinding fluid is to keep the temperature of the first bond layer from reaching the softening point. In FFG, the grinding fluid has two roles: (1) to prevent transfer and build-up of metal on active grain tips and (2) to lower the temperature of the workpiece by cooling action.
