Description
Back to THE USE OF FUNDAMENTAL STATISTICAL TECHNIQUES IN THE DESIGN OF A DRILL
This paper is presented from the viewpoint of the user of statistical techniques in the design of an experiment. It is written for the average engineer, who wishes to apply statistical experimental design, especially to the area of materials processing such as metal cutting. Therefore, the basic background material is included. As an example of an experimental design, a central composite design is applied to the drilling of an aluminum alloy. The primary purpose of this paper is to illustrate the application of statistical design of experiment techniques to materials processing rather than to present an experimental investigation of the drilling process.
