Description

Back to THE PRODUCTION OF FINE SURFACE FINISHES WHILE MAINTAINING GOOD SURFACE
The influence of the induced wheel-work interface force on surface finish is described. The relation between feed rate, and induced interface force and consequently surface finish is described. Surface finish relations resulting from ploughing and cutting are presented as well as the influence of the smoothness of the abrasive grit wear flat. Changes in finish due to wheel sharpness changes are described. The influence of the conformity between wheel and work is described. The effect of grinding wheel dress ing conditions is described and quantitative parameters are presented for describing the dressing operation. Focal hardness variations in grinding wheels and their influence on surface finish is discussed.
