Evaluating Grinding Fluid Performance

In any grinding system, if grinding continues too long without dressing and/or at excessive grinding rates, ¿howling,¿ leading to visible chatter will develop. Thus there exists a limit on the volume of metal that can be removed at any grinding rate. Discussed are relationships between performance increases and increased coolant costs developed, establishing how higher coolant quality and cost can be practically, and/or economically, rewarding.
