Description
Back to Statistical Analysis in Quality Assurance
Effective quality assurance requires that statistical quality control (SQC) be practiced. SQC provides the data for the decision-making and documentation required to provide quality assurance. This paper discusses the origins of SQC and traces its development through several evolutionary stages, culminating in mentions of a few of the advanced quality control and assurance techniques now used in industry. Underlying statistical theory is cited for the majority of SQC applications. A limited number of important references are provided for those who wish a more comprehensive insight into the present state of the art. 11 refs.
