Description

Back to Reducing Grinding Costs by the Application of Grinding Technology...
The lack of technical information and data relating to grinding operations is recognized as contributing significantly to manufacturing costs involved with grinding systems. Some informational or research needs of the metal working industry are identified. A technical basis for approaching these needs is presented. Methods for describing grinding actions in quantitative terms are suggested. The control of grinding machines to prevent thermal damage is reduced from seven machine variables to two thermal variables. The evaluation of cutting fluids based on a wear coefficient is suggested.
