Understanding the Functions of a Mechanical Deburring Job Shop

Manufacturers and the auxiliary services must all face the problems of burrs, sharp edges and radius requirements when dealing with metals. Production decisions must be faced over in-house deburring versus outside processing. The purpose of the paper is to reflect a honest position of the true capabilities and limitations of the mechanical deburring job shop. Many ways of attacking a problem can come out of an active job shop. This paper will attempt to show that the advantages far outweigh any disadvantages that will be revealed.
