Description

Back to Economics of Metal Stamping

All manufacturers of metal stampings have the same basic objective: make the parts to the users' specifications at the lowest unit part cost. The ability to produce the part within allowable dimensional tolerances and other user specifications, of course, depends on properly designing the tools and making the parts in the optimum type of equipment. Predicting the actual cost of making the parts -- and therefore establishing an acceptable selling price -- may be quite difficult and yet may make the difference between profit and loss in producing a particular order.
