Laboratory External Grinding

External grinding tests were performed in the laboratory under steady-state conditions. A method of analysis is presented relating wheelwear rates, metal removal rates and power. Wheel grade and grinding-width effects are discussed. Other methods of data-analysis are reviewed and their common factors are illustrated and compared. The data used in these analyses may be readily obtained in a production environment.
