This paper reviews some of the recent developments and describes some typical applications where centrifugal barrel finishing is being used in industry. Principles of operation of CBF, capabilities of CBF, development of CBF equipment, development of CBF process techniques. Deburring-- the process of transmission chains, watch parts, dental and orthodontal components, precision machined casting and die castings, gears and sprockets. Edge finishing and radius generation-- the process of carbide tooling, reed and flapper valves, automotive, truck and off-highway equipment, non-metal components. Surface finishing-- aircraft compressor and turbine blades, casting, jewelry, molds and dies.
