Dressing Effects of Multi-Point Diamonds

Internal grinding tests were used to evaluate dressing with multi-point diamonds. Three wheel grades and three depths-of-dress were examined. The influence of grinding time on the wheel wear rate and metal removal rate is discussed. A comparison is made of multi-point and single-point dressing at the same lead and depth. Equations describing the metal and wheel removal parameters and surface finish are given.
