Precision Grinding Bodies of Revolution An Alternative to Diamond Turn

The basic grinding parameters that must be controlled in order to carry out ultraprecision grinding operations are presented. The profile grinding of bodies of revolution is described. Profile errors caused by variations in the magnitude and direction of the induced force are considered a computer-controlled grinding system using force sensors is suggested for improving the precision of profile grinding operations.
