Description
Back to Grinding Process Control
Input variables to the grinding machine are distinguished from the input variables to the grinding process. The grinding process variables are defined and a method of obtaining better control of these process variables through the introduction of sensors in the machine coupled with a computer is described. The principles of conventional and creep-feed grinding are presented, including the important process variables. Methods for controlling thermal damage, surface roughness, workpiece form, and dimensional size are discussed.
