Back to Producibility--Design Considerations for Printed Circuit Board Assemblies
The importance of producibility design guidelines during the design phase is critical to a successful manufacturing phase for any printed circuit board assembly. The product designer must be familiar with electronic and mechanical producibility requirements in order to optimize total manufacturing costs. This paper defines producibility in terms of the design, processing, and test equipment used in the manufacturing of printed circuit board assemblies. Actual working design guidelines as used by the contract design and assembly division of Cincinnati Electronics Corporation are presented.
