Applying Low-Resolution Machine Vision to Food and Drug Packaging

This paper discusses understanding machine vision, specifically low-resolution machine vision, and applying it to food and drug packaging. An in-depth discussion is presented on classifications of various vision systems and techniques for applying them to real world applications. The distinction between high- and low-resolution systems is clarified. Some important aspects of the vision system, such as lensing and lighting, and some aspects of the vision camera are described. Low-resolution vision systems can be applied to food and drug packaging.
