This paper introduces new, solid-type end mill made from super-tough cermet material. This cermet, composed of tic and tin, equals cemented carbide in elastic modulus. Its heat conductivity is lower than one-tenth that of cemented carbide. The tool life of solid cermet end mill is approximately two to four times longer than that of cemented carbide.
