Back to Modular Vise Fixturing: The New Concept In Workholding
Modular vise fixturing is a new workholding system for horizontal or vertical CNC milling machines. The system reduces setup times from hours to minutes and maximizes the number of parts in the machining envelope. It is ideal for JIT philosophy and most production environments with periodic workpiece changes. Modular vise fixturing features jaws that can be machined to accommodate all locating and holding surfaces, thus converting jaws into expensive, quick-change dedicated fixtures. The jaws are simply snapped on to vise-like carrier modules that are available in configurations holding from 2 to 16 workpieces on one sub-plate, pallet, or indexer.
