Training needs include: identification of the types of available deburring tools and those already in-house; training on how to use each type of tool, and many hours of practice;training on where and when to use each type of tool; training on how to select and use different grades, grits, and sizes of a specific type of tool; identification of plant edge-quality requirements, simple deburring economics, and employer expectations; training on surface finishes and how deburring can affect finish; training on simple cleaning and its impact on seeing burrs; identification of critical drawing needs; training in ergometric and safety considerations; training on how to inspect for burrs; training on how to use microscopes (if used in production), and introduction to systematic manual deburring for each part in a lot.
