Back to MANUFACTURING DEVELOPMENTS FOR PRODUCING ADVANCED METALLIC STRUCTURES
Adhesively Bonded multi-layer metallic components are being considered for increased application in airframe manufacture. However, because of limitations in fabrication capability, most of the components used today are utilized in areas where contour severity and structural considerations are minimized. Described within this paper are some of the fabrication methods used for Aluminum and Titanium materials, some of the design considerations that are necessary in producing the parts, and the success realized to date.
