Description
Back to State of the Art General Deburring Methods
Burr removal is one of the most costly operations facing the manufacturers of mechanical components. It has been reported that in some manufacturing processes, deburring costs run as high as 30% of total part cost. The purpose of this paper is to familiarize the manufacturing engineer with commercially available deburring methods. Being cognizant of the advantages and limitations of each, the engineer can select the one which leads to minimum deburring costs.
