Description

Back to Abrasive Machining for Surface Integrity

Abrasive machining is often defined as high-efficiency grinding of a rough part to a finish dimension. Abrasive machining involves both round and flat parts and is done primarily by bonded wheels and coated abrasive belts. Bonded abrasive machining started with vertical spindle segmented wheel surface grinding. Then came cylindrical abrasive machining and now centerless abrasive machining. Centerless abrasive machining is covered here. Coated abrasive machining of metals is done on both flat and round surfaces. Data on both processes are included.
