Description
Back to AN EXTENSION OF PROPOSED DEFINITIONS FOR BURRS AND RELATED EDGE CONDIT
RECENT ATTEMPTS TO PROVIDE A SCIENTIFIC BASIS FOR CATEGORIZING DEBURRING CAPABILITIES HAVE HAD A PROBLEM DEFINING WHAT WORDS SUCH AS BURR AND DEBURRING IMPLY. THIS DOCUMENT IS AN EXTENSION OF AN EARLIER REPORT ON PROPOSED DEFINITIONS WHICH HOPEFULLY CAN BE ACCEPTED BY ALL OF INDUSTRY. IN ADDITION TO THE PROPOSED DEFINITIONS, THIS REPORT CONTAINS A SUMMARY OF REASONS FOR THESE CHOICES AND A BRIEF REVIEW OF OTHER PUBLISHED DEFINITIONS. PHOTOGRAPHS AND DRAWINGS ARE USED TO COMPLETE THE DISCUSSION. 29 REFS. (SME Technical Report MRR77-09)
