Measurement of Numerical Control Machine Capability

Machine capability studies are useful for the selection of new equipment and the control of equipment already in place. This paper outlines the principal steps that are taken in developing such a study. Examples from cases are given for illustration. The subjects covered are: definition of machine function, design of the study, performing the test, analysis of data, and interpreting and using the information. (available in microfiche only)
