A Non-Contact Visual Profilometer for Automatic Inspection

This paper describes a non-contact visual profile sensing method and an implementation for the inspection of metal turbine parts for visual surface defects. The inspection system consists of a sensor, a hardware profile preprocessor, a hardware flaw detector, and a manipulator. Only the sensing scheme and the profile preprocessor are discussed in this paper.
