Description
Back to Riveting in Aircraft Industry, Hand-Installed and Automated
During the development of a range of vibration-damped riveters and bucking bars, Atlas Copco gained wide-ranging and detailed information on the construction of airframes for big transporters. In 1982 Atlas Copco launched a project to develop an automatic assembly system based on the vibration damped riveter, the automatic riveting assembly system (ARAS). The principle function of the riveters is described as well as the further development of the ARAS project. The ARAS system is a highly flexible module system which is described in different applications.
