Description
Back to An Evaluation of Ink Performance Properties for UV Versus Conventional Sheetfed Ink
UV and conventional sheetfed inks were printed on a six-unit 60" production press, using the same press conditions for both sets of inks. Curing the UV ink was accomplished with interstation and post-positioned lamps. Drying of conventional ink was with IR assist. Pre-press testing of inks helped to predict lithographic press performance; pressmen were able to fine-tune the ink/water balance of both types of inks during the production run. These press results will help to make sound recommendations to sheetfed printers contemplating the installation of UV equipment.
