Description
Back to Statistical Control In A Flexible Machining System
This paper discusses the utilization of statistical methods being used in a new factory being built in an old plant in Lima, Ohio. The paper provides an overview of the factory and will treat explicitly the statistical methods being installed to facilitate and enhance the Westinghouse flexible machining system (FMS) operation on the factory floor. It explains the type and amount of training provided to Westinghouse employees so a smooth implementation of a project of this complexity could be successful. Finally, this paper discusses future plans to incorporate statistical techniques throughout this new factory.
