Cutting Performance Of PCBN For Cast Iron

The cutting performance of PCBN on cast iron is reviewed. The machinability of cast iron depends on the microstructure and morphology of carbon and cast iron. In this paper, several kinds of cast iron cutting test results are described. The first test results are from gray cast iron turning. This test also includes an estimation of surface roughness. The cutting test results for interrupted cutting of nodular cast iron also are described. The third results show an actual application example for PCBN.
