Description

Back to Analysis Of Burr Formation Mechanism In Machining Process
Burr formation during the machining process is a major concern in industry. This paper introduces the fundamental mechanisms of burr formation, using theoretical and empirical approach. Various type of burrs observed while machining, particularly in face milling, with several sets of cutting conditions is presented. The formation mechanism for those burrs is also explained with experimental results and results from previous researchers to give a basic understanding of the types of burrs which may occur.
