Description

Back to Teaching Life Cycle Engineering as an Integral Part of...
Just a few years back, environmental issues were mainly dealt with in a regulatory manner. Through the last decade, and in particular the last few years, we have seen a transition toward a system based on dialogue and agreements rather than command and control. This has led to many companies treating environmental issues proactively and "taking ownership" of this area. Today areas like environmental management, environmental control systems, green reporting, green purchasing, etc., are well known to most companies in the industrialized world. Many have been practicing this for years and are in fact driving the evolution and further integrating these issues into the daily work in companies. Authors: Morten Als Pedersen, Leo Alting, Technical University of Denmark, Lyngby, Denmark.
